Second term started a few weeks back, while I was in Paris I might add, and so far it has been pretty good. Our project this term is based on street fashion, and we have to design a pair of jeans and a t-shirt based on muse of our choice. My muse is Dita von Teese and have broken down her look into 1950’s Hollywood glamour and bondage! Well anyway I am designing a t-shirt based off of anatomy and the jeans are going to be high waisted and corseted. I have already been to two design classes with my new tutor Lilianna Senguino, who is from Colombia and looks like a Viking warrior princess. She is amazingly helpful and likes where I’m going with my work. I also talked to her about my concerns about not being challenged and she encouraged me to start interning for designers, as long as it wouldn’t interfere with my work. Since London Fashion Week is just around the corner, she suggested that I email some designers as and ask if I could volunteer for them, so I did just this and am currently waiting to hear back from them. I’ll tell you if any get back to me don’t worry!
Side note: a new friend from my course told me this week that over heard my very difficult tutor from last term tell my tutor from this term that she didn’t like male womenswear designers, BUT she like my work along with the other guy in my group! YAY! Honorable mention for Marcus!!!!
